Ferment

Ferment is a private House of Culture and Nature located in the restored old villa  in Warsaw’s Sadyba district, which bases its interdisciplinary activities on four pillars: art, cuisine, nature, and community.

The starting point for the project was an attempt to directly translate the name “Ferment” into the language of visual forms. The visual identity system and the Ferment logo are based on a custom typeface, designed in collaboration with Maciej Połczyński (Läic Type Foundry). The new typeface “Ferment Regular” is inspired by an uncompromising juxtaposition of organic and inorganic forms. The “fermented” letters defy common normative tendencies and reject the idea of a final form, emphasizing what is irregular and unpredictable. The flexible visual identity system encompasses the diverse and multifaceted activities of the new institution.
